This is one of the more recent recipes added to my collection. It was from my friend in Goregaon and for those who like the taste of dill, it is a wonderful rice preparation that can complement spicy dishes. It is an unusual pulao that can be served at parties in place of regular rice or jeera pulao

For dal


    Step 1

    In a large pot, heat oil/ghee; when hot add rai; as it starts to splutter add hing. chana dal, dry red chilies and curry leaves; fry for a minute

    Step 2

    Add chopped dill and fry well

    Step 3

    Add rice fry again

    Step 4

    Add jaggery, tamarind, coconut, vangi bhat masala, haldi and salt

    Step 5

    Add hot water; cover and cook on medium-low heat.
